James Cameron Avatar producer reveals details about new series movie

After breaking a historic box office record and revolutionizing narratives in 3D cinema, James Cameron’s Avatar will finally have a sequel, more than 12 years after the original film. One no, four more, with the second part hitting the big screen in 2021. Some scenes and details have been released in recent months and now producer Jon Landau explains more about the plot.

“This is the narrative of the Sully family and what you do to keep the family unitedly. Jake and Neytiri become a family in this movie, and they are forced to leave their home, to go out and explore the different regions of Pandora. That includes spending a lot of time in the water, “said Landau. For those who don’t remember, Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) are the unlikely couples formed in the original Avatar.

Till now, not much information was known about the story, and this description confirms the suspicions raised after the first images broadcast about Avatar 2 (see the tweet below), which already indicated an adventure with many underwater scenarios. Colonel Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang), the villain of the first feature, should also be back.

Landau and his team are currently preparing to return to recording in New Zealand, following outbreaks caused by the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic.
