Henry Cavill in different role but still remain Superman

Henry Cavill acted Superman for the first time in Zack Snyder’s The Man of Steel (2013), replaying the role in Batman vs Superman: The Origin of Justice (2016) and Justice League (2017). After the critical failure of the last movie, it appeared that no more would see the actor as the Last Son of Krypton, but the hype by Snyder Cut of Justice League ended up bringing a new wave of desire for the central characters of DC.
Deadline sources guaranteed that Cavill would return as Clark Kent, but this is not a solo film sequence, as Man of Steel 2 would not even be in development. Rumours are that Superman will make special appearances in DC’s upcoming films, focusing on Shazam 2, Black Adam and Aquaman 2, but none of this has been confirmed by Warner Bros. so far. The idea is very similar to the rumour that the introduction of Deadpool in the Marvel Cinematic Universe would happen through special appearances, which would replace the long-awaited appearances of the late Stan Lee.

Although not confirmed, Henry Cavill’s permanence on paper generated an excellent repercussion on social media, with many fans celebrating the supposed news. This means that, even if the rumour is not true, the reaction of the fans can make Warner Bros think more seriously about continuing the character in the DCEU.
Unpublished images of Superman in Justice League are expected to appear on the Snyder Cut and, in addition, Henry Cavill may be seen as Sherlock Holmes in Enola Holmes, the adaptation of Nancy Springer’s book.
